These Fine Walls

TheseFineWalls is an online gallery that offers a unique collection of limited-edition prints by emerging and established photographers from around the world. Founded by Lisa Eryn Silverman in 2014, TFW quickly made its mark as web-based photography resource for interior designers, architects, and collectors worldwide.

TheseFineWalls operates as an accessible platform by which to view, scale, customize, and purchase museum-quality printed and framed photographs. Attracting both seasoned collectors as well as those who are newer to art acquisition and turned off by the often intimidating white-wall gallery structure, TheseFineWalls offers a user-friendly platform through which to discover and collect works. Lisa views the medium of photography in and of itself as something worthy of being accessibly because it is a medium that, based on reproduction, can be enjoyed by so many. “Photography’s ability to be reproduced has drastically changed the way we assign value to an artist’s creation,” Lisa explains “and in my opinion, this change is for the better in the sense that it can be shared and seen by more people.”

Today, the online gallery represents the photographs of over a dozen contemporary photographers whose work can be found in museums or publications worldwide, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, amongst others. All photographs are produced in New York City under Silverman’s direct supervision and made using the most up-to-date printing, framing, acrylic, and archival glass components.

Lisa Eryn Silverman, Founder/ Creative Director

Born and raised in Brookville Long Island, Lisa Eryn Silverman developed her creative taste for design, and photography at an early age. “Growing up, my home was filled with fashion and interior design magazines,” explains Lisa, “I was captivated by the images and developed an appreciation for detail. ” Lisa spent much of her upbringing between New York City and Sagoponack, Long Island; her proclivity towards these contrasting environments, one of fast-paced business and glamour, and the other of nature and calm, continue to inspire her taste in fine art photography.

After receiving her Bachelors of Science from the Boston University School of Business, Lisa went on to study Interior Design at Parsons School of Design and Photography at the International Center for Photography before working in the fashion industry full time. In her career as a fashion-photography producer for Michael Kors, Lisa found herself constantly exposed to the private portfolios of the world’s most esteemed photographers, whose photos lay dormant unless published in the glossy pages of a magazine. Recognizing the power of those images as worthy of a frame and wall, Lisa founded TheseFineWalls in order to re-present fashion, beauty, and other editorial-styled images as decorative art for interior settings.

In addition to promoting the works of today’s emerging and established creatives, Lisa spends time developing her own career as a photographer; channeling her attraction to fashion and her insight into its industry, she creates whimsical still life photo-collages whose themes often reflect the luxury and excess associated with popular culture tastes. “Whether in my own work, or the very platform of TheseFineWalls, I enjoy creating new magical spaces or worlds into which anyone can enter and explore”explains Lisa.

Committed to giving back, Lisa is actively involved in Supplies for Success, a non-profit organization that provides backpacks and school supplies for underprivileged children in the United States. A portion of proceeds from sales of TheseFineWalls is donated yearly to the charity. Lisa lives in Tribeca New York City with her husband Andrew and their son Austin, a young collector since the age of 1.
